Eligibility
Surviving spouses, dependent children, and some dependent parents of service members who died in the line of duty or veterans who died from a service-connected condition. Each benefit has its own rules: DIC generally requires the death be service-connected, while Survivors Pension is for low-income families of wartime veterans.
