- Burial at a state veterans cemeteryVeterans and family members interested in burial at a state veterans cemetery, including eligible veterans, spouses, and dependents.
- Interment for an eligible veteran’s spouseAn eligible veteran’s spouse may be interred in the same plot as the veteran at GVMC.
- Burial for an eligible veteran’s dependentAn eligible veteran’s dependent who is unmarried, under age 21, or life-long dependent on the veteran is eligible for burial at GVMC.
- Gravesite, vault, marker, and use of the committal chapelEligible veterans or spouses/eligible family members receive these for interment service at no charge.
- Perpetual careThe State provides perpetual care for those buried at GVMC.
Eligibility
A veteran under the rules established by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and separated under other than dishonorable conditions. A member of the Reserves/National Guard who was eligible for retirement pay at the time of death or would have been entitled to retired pay but for the fact that they were not at least 60 years of age. A member of a reserve component whose service was terminated under honorable conditions provided such individual completed a full term of service and became deceased on or after August 1, 1990.
