Eligibility

The VA Veterans Pension is a tax-free monetary benefit for low-income veterans with no compensable service-connected injuries or disabilities who served at least one day during a war period, with an other than dishonorable discharge. To qualify, a Veteran must be 65 years old or older - or under 65 years old and a patient in a nursing facility or be receiving Social Security disability payments. Survivors’ Pension is a tax-free monetary benefit for low-income, unmarried surviving spouses and/or children of a deceased Veteran with wartime service.
