Survivors & Dependents Benefits for Washington Families

Benefits for surviving spouses, children, and parents of deceased Washington veterans, including Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC), survivors pension, education benefits, and burial benefits.

Eligibility

Surviving spouses, dependent children, and some dependent parents of service members who died in the line of duty or veterans who died from a service-connected condition. Each benefit has its own rules: DIC generally requires the death be service-connected, while Survivors Pension is for low-income families of wartime veterans.
